A friend of mine gave me my first Master Grade Gundam kit as a farewell present before leaving Singapore.

After opening the box and starting to assemble it, i found myself enjoying model building especially the painting work. I now have two more MG projects waiting in the wings.

This is my first project and the actual status is "almost finished" after 2 months of working on it. As i have no background whatsoever on how to build Master Grade models, below are some notes to document what i did for this particular model and relative costs :

1. Hand painted the body with Gunze red paint (75 pesos + 150 pesos for matte black and matte white paints).

2. Spray painted the legs, arms and shoulders with Terra Cotta colored spray paint similar to the one used by vandals which i bought from the local hardware store (~150 pesos). (I later found out that these types of paint are not recommended as it becomes almost impossible to remove it after application. Also, shading work is almost impossible).

3. No paint on the internal parts.

4. No seam filling was done (i didn't know about putty or cement glue until recently).

5. Broken waist/hip peg due to some difficulty in installation of the skirt armor so the ass opens up a little but is not too noticeable.

6. Broken rifle handle while removing from the sprue. this is the major goof up for this model. lol!

7. Cracked shield due to storage transport from singapore to the philippines but is not too noticeable.

8. Random decal application! I was too tired too put it correctly!

9. Repainted arms, head and backpack recently to match shading (75 pesos for Gunze metallic black for the backpack).

10. Detailing was done with a 0.5 point gundam detailing pen.

Master Grades tend to have a humongous number of parts. Despite the sore thumbs, initial building time for this model was 3 days. But finishing it took more time due to some high degree of procrastination! hahaha! Currently finished some repainting work and planning to finish it with some clear coats paint probably by next weekend. After that, i'll try to post the actual final product pictures.
